GREENVILLE, S.C. – On Friday, March 30th, The Palmetto Bank, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Palmetto Bancshares, Inc., (NASDAQ: PLMT) completed the previously announced consolidation of the North Harper branch into the West Main branch. The Palmetto Bank continues to operate two branches in Laurens with the West Main branch continuing as the largest branch in the Bank’s franchise. All loans and deposits were moved from the North Harper branch to the West Main branch, while the safe deposit boxes were placed in both the West Main and Church Street locations.

A new drive up ATM was installed on April 3 at the West Main Street branch, which is expected to reduce wait times in the drive thru lanes and alleviate traffic congestion on West Main Street. Over the next few months, the Bank also plans to introduce additional technology improvements, including the Bank’s first deposit accepting ATM at Cato Crossing. This will allow Palmetto Bank clients the benefit of making deposits of both cash and checks without the need of a deposit slip or envelope 24 hours a day at this ATM.

“We are working diligently to become a more efficient and effective organization, while at the same time continuing a history of investing in the Laurens community,” said Sam Erwin, President and Chief Executive Officer. “The investment in the ATM at West Main will give our clients greater flexibility and convenience downtown, while the new Cato Crossing ATM will offer deposit-accepting capabilities not available anywhere else in our franchise.”
